Matthew C. McConnell is a Senior Associate Attorney at Dixon & Moseley P.C., where he practices in the areas of criminal defense, family law, and appellate law. He earned his B.A. degree from Indiana University – Bloomington, and his J.D. degree from the John Marshall Law School – Chicago. He is admitted to practice law in Indiana and Maine.
Matt was a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Tippecanoe County for over five years. He handled thousands of cases ranging from misdemeanors to Level 1 felonies. He has extensive experience trying both bench and jury trials. Matt served two years as the Chairman of the Tippecanoe County Child Fatality Review Team, a group dedicated to ending preventable, negligent, and criminal child deaths in the community. As Chairman, Matt gave presentations to law enforcement, healthcare providers, and educators. He ended his time with the Prosecutor’s Office as a member of the Major Felony Criminal Intake and Special Investigations Division, where he worked with detectives to investigate and file major felony charges.
Prior to becoming a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Matt represented indigent clients in criminal and family law matters. He defended clients accused of crimes at trial, and in all stages of CHINS and Termination of Parental Rights proceedings, including on appeal. Matt also has experience representing clients in contract disputes and insurance defense matters.
Throughout his career, Matt has represented a wide range of clients from indigent persons to large companies. However, Matt’s goals are the same with each case; to provide quality customer service and representation to his clients.
